📡 Product Overview
RadioMaster Nomad Dual 1-Watt Gemini Xrossband ExpressLRS Module is a dual-band external transmitter module designed for demanding FPV, long-range, fixed-wing, and RC applications. Its two Semtech LR1121 transceivers support both 2.4GHz and sub-G 900MHz operation.
When paired with a compatible Gemini Xrossband receiver, the Nomad can transmit control packets across both frequency bands simultaneously. This improves link resilience by reducing dependence on a single frequency band in congested or interference-heavy environments.
The package includes adapters for both Micro and Nano module bays, two dual-band antennas, active cooling, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an ExpressLRS backpack processor, and external XT30 power support.

🔄 Receiver Compatibility
Gemini Xrossband operation requires a compatible dual-band receiver, such as the RadioMaster DBR4 or XR4. These receivers can use the 2.4GHz and sub-G 900MHz bands together.
Existing single-band ExpressLRS receivers can also be used by selecting a compatible single-band or Gemini mode. A 2.4GHz-only receiver cannot receive the 900MHz signal, and a 900MHz-only receiver cannot receive the 2.4GHz signal.
🎯 Ideal Use Cases
- Long-range FPV drones
- Fixed-wing aircraft
- FPV racing in congested RF environments
- Cinematic and professional FPV platforms
- Gemini Xrossband receiver systems
- Telemetry-intensive RC applications
- Compatible MAVLink and mLRS projects
⚠️ Important Usage Notes
- Attach both supplied antennas before powering the module. Operating without suitable antennas may damage the RF hardware.
- Gemini Xrossband operation requires a compatible dual-band receiver and matching ExpressLRS firmware.
- Use the correct frequency and regulatory-domain settings for your country.
- High-power operation increases power consumption and heat. Keep the cooling openings unobstructed.
- Use a correctly wired power source within the specified 6–16.8V XT30 input range.
- Available packet rates depend on the transmitter, receiver, ExpressLRS firmware, operating band, and selected mode.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What is Gemini Xrossband?
Gemini Xrossband allows a compatible transmitter and receiver to communicate simultaneously over 2.4GHz and sub-G 900MHz, improving link resilience across different interference conditions.
Does Gemini Xrossband work with a standard single-band receiver?
No. Simultaneous dual-band operation requires a compatible Gemini Xrossband receiver. Standard receivers can still be used with the Nomad in an appropriate single-band mode.
Can it work with regular 2.4GHz ELRS receivers?
Yes. Select a compatible 2.4GHz ExpressLRS operating mode and firmware configuration.
Can it work with 900MHz ExpressLRS receivers?
Yes, provided the receiver supports the module’s FCC 903–927MHz operating range and the correct ExpressLRS mode is selected.
Does it fit Micro and Nano module bays?
Yes. The module includes a Micro module-bay adapter and a separate Nano adapter.
Does the module include antennas?
Yes. Two dual-band 2.4GHz/900MHz antennas are included.
Is an external battery required?
The Nomad has an XT30 input for an external 6–16.8V supply. Available output power may depend on the radio’s module-bay power capability, so external power may be required for sustained high-power operation.
Can it transmit a combined 2W signal?
The Nomad contains two transceivers rated up to 1W each. Actual transmitted power depends on the operating mode, firmware settings, power source, thermal conditions, and regional limits; it should not be treated as a simple single-output 2W transmitter.
Is the FCC version suitable for 868MHz regions?
The listed FCC version is specified for 903–927MHz sub-G operation. Always select hardware and firmware that comply with the frequency regulations in your country.
