📡 Product Overview
RadioMaster Nomad Dual 1-Watt Gemini Xrossband ExpressLRS Module is a dual-band external transmitter module designed for long-range FPV, fixed-wing aircraft, racing drones, and other demanding RC applications. Its two Semtech LR1121 transceivers support both 2.4GHz and sub-G 900MHz operation.
When paired with a compatible Gemini Xrossband receiver, the Nomad can transmit control packets across both bands simultaneously. Using two frequency bands helps improve link resilience in congested or interference-heavy environments.
The module includes active cooling, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an ExpressLRS backpack processor, external XT30 power support, two dual-band antennas, and adapters for Micro and Nano module bays.

🔄 Receiver Compatibility
Full Gemini Xrossband operation requires a compatible dual-band receiver such as the RadioMaster DBR4 or XR4. This allows control packets to be transmitted over 2.4GHz and 900MHz at the same time.
Existing single-band ExpressLRS receivers can still be used by selecting a compatible single-band operating mode. A 2.4GHz-only receiver cannot use the 900MHz transmission, and a 900MHz-only receiver cannot use the 2.4GHz transmission.
🎯 Ideal Use Cases
- Long-range FPV drones
- Fixed-wing RC aircraft
- FPV racing in congested RF environments
- Cinematic FPV platforms
- Gemini Xrossband receiver systems
- Telemetry-intensive RC applications
- Compatible MAVLink and mLRS projects
⚠️ Important Usage Notes
- Attach both antennas before powering the module.
- Gemini Xrossband requires a compatible dual-band receiver and matching ExpressLRS firmware.
- Select frequency settings that comply with local radio regulations.
- Keep the cooling openings unobstructed during high-power operation.
- Use a correctly wired external supply within the specified 6–16.8V range.
- Available output power and packet rates depend on the operating mode, receiver, firmware, power supply, and temperature.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What is Gemini Xrossband?
Gemini Xrossband allows a compatible transmitter and receiver to communicate simultaneously over 2.4GHz and sub-G 900MHz, improving link resilience across different interference conditions.
Does Gemini Xrossband work with a standard receiver?
No. Simultaneous dual-band operation requires a compatible Gemini Xrossband receiver. Standard receivers can still be used in a suitable single-band mode.
Can it work with regular 2.4GHz ELRS receivers?
Yes. Select a compatible 2.4GHz ExpressLRS operating mode.
Can it work with 900MHz ELRS receivers?
Yes, provided the receiver supports the module’s FCC 903–927MHz range and the correct ExpressLRS mode is selected.
Does it fit Micro and Nano module bays?
Yes. The package includes adapters for both Micro and Nano module bays.
Are the antennas included?
Yes. Two dual-band 2.4GHz/900MHz antennas are included.
Is an external battery required?
The Nomad provides an XT30 input for an external 6–16.8V supply. External power may be required for sustained high-output operation if the radio’s module bay cannot provide sufficient power.
Does dual 1W mean a single 2W output?
No. The module contains two transceivers rated up to 1W each. Actual transmission depends on the operating mode and should not be treated as one combined 2W RF output.
Can the FCC version be used on 868MHz?
The listed FCC version is specified for 903–927MHz sub-G operation. Use only frequencies and output levels permitted in your country.
